Simply Be Yoga - what is it all about?

There have been many times in my life when I was doing, striving or trying to achieve. Even in my yoga practice I wanted to DO that full lotus, I wanted to achieve the wheel pose. Now ten years later, I am happier being. By 'being' I mean, when I am in posture, I don't let the chatter of my mind control what I am doing. I allow my body to feel what is happening and if it says stop or hold back, I try now to listen. This practice of listening is one that is fairly recent and was the result of injuring myself quite badly during an astanga class. My ego told me to push myself and my body responded with striking pain. I wasn't listening properly.

This is the central theme of my yoga theme of Simply Be Yoga. I started my first public class this week in Sutton Coldfield after teaching mainly very small group classes and 1-2-1s. I know that this is just the beginning of my yoga journey as a teacher. As they say, the teacher is always a student too.
